“I get by with a little help from my friends.” - John Lennon

Tuesday, November 28th 4:49pm

Rum Tum Tugger (my 1974 super beetle) was making sounds that any normal bug would not be making. Crackling and squeaking, something was not right and I decided it would be best if I parked him for a month or so while I came up with the money to fix him. He was laid to rest out in the sun, abandoned and alone. I felt awful as I climbed into the Golf, but what could I do? I did not have the mechanical know-how to take him apart right then and there to find the problem. And then it came to me. DHP.

I quickly drove home and hopped onto lowlifevw.com and sent out a message to Brandon of DHP asking for his help. He suggested we meet up a the Compound (Brandon’s Grandpa Jerry’s huge garage) and that we could take a look at it there. I was thrilled and asked him if he could also help with a secret plan I had…to lower my super beetle. He said we could do it without spending a penny. This I had to see. (more…)

The Karls Customs Show 2006 Video

Sunday, November 19th, 2006

The Karls Customs VW show has become a must attend event in Arizona. We were fortunate enough to be able to have people go up Saturday night and hang out with our Lowlifevw.com friends. We also had about 6 people roll up on Sunday with a couple extra buddies in tow. All in all it was a very good time. We look forward to making it again next year.

This video is 6 minutes and 56 seconds long. The beginning and end feature the mention DHP got in the Sean Phills radio spot and the rest well…it’s full of useless transistions, a cursing ex-white devil, almost no footage of the show and some nifty road footage. Enjoy!

Meet the AC3 Project

We know you are all aware of the fact that DHP is a noble and honest group. Our charitable contributions are legendary. Unicorns and pixies sing our praises in fields of flowers and throwout bearings.

OK that may be layin it on a little thick. We apologize for that, but we don’t apologize for the cool kids at Cienega Highschool in Vail Arizona. AC3 stands for Air-Cooled Cat Club…I think. DHPs own Mick Keck is teaching a car build class there and yep you guessed it…it’s a 65 VW. Mike asked a few of us to come down to get a look at what the class had goin on. (more…)

Cassie’s Corner #3

“The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web.” Pablo Picasso was quite right, but mine came from a mailbox.

There is a time in everyone’s life when they realize it is just too hard to fight the urge to draw on yourself or doodle on a canvas of your choice. I know you have all been down this road whether it was giving yourself a pretend tattoo or doodling on your sibling years ago. If you have not participated in the aforementioned creative experiences, you my friend, have missed out on a very important part of your childhood. Let me help you try to understand this phenomena (more…)
