Adrian’s Bus gets un-cut

Monday, March 31st, 2008

The DHP NM crew is just about ready to roll out to AZ for the BOR in April. :) Bug-o-Rama April 13th at Firebird Raceway in Phoenix. Anyway..Wes decided it was time to fix the cut wheel wells on Adrians bus so it would have a little better (opinion) look to it. Here’s a few pictures of Wes workin his magic. Check out Wes’ Squareback too…another nice DHP car…what.

We’re in Love with Mary Jane

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

The newest member of DHP is to date it’s cutest. Her name is Mary Jane and she is the bomb. She’s 8 weeks old and got over her fear of the compressor after less than a day. Her demeanor is sweet and she’s fond of belly rubs. Yay!

Toon Drawing Slideshow

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Lemorris’ daughter is some kinda hot-snot artist and she recently taught him how to render “her way”.

He chose a toon for a cat named Brian. He drew the picture while his daughter instructed and beat a brow or two. Lemorris thinks it came out ok.

we do too

Testing a new format too…pretty cool we think

Beams Galore

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

Yep just like Bus-abus, we got Beams Galore. In this instance galore would actually be equal to one, but in some circumstances one can be galore…in our world anyway. I think this is Adrian’s beam that Wes built. I think it’s narrowed somewhere between 1-14 inches. I also think it’s going in Adrians 36-77 bug (I wanted to be right).

At some point we’re going to have to do individual member features so you can get a chance to see just how skilled folks like Wes, Brandon, Lee, JR, Alex, etc. are. The craftsmanship in this beam is outstanding. Working on our cars from general day to day stuff through painting, engine building and whatever is one of the best parts about being in this motley crew.

Another Early Video - My Keys

Monday, March 17th, 2008

Here’s another video from way back when. It’s short but fun and apparently Lemorris had just learned about velocity envelopes. Our favorite part is when he lifts up Charlie who is sleeping on the couch :) good times.

Soda Cracker - The Video Dog

Friday, March 14th, 2008

,

Often times we are asked about the vicious looking dog at the beginning of a number of the DHP videos. His name is Soda Cracker and his bloodlines run back to the age of the dragon. Though he looks like a mutt he is in fact a Purebred Mutt, which is classy…just like us.

How did we get him to roar? Well that wasn’t really him…he’s a dog…he barks. Lemorris dangled a yo-yo off to the side and Soda Cracker was reaching for it while Lemorris’ wife filmed. Soda Cracker does not have thumbs, and the irony of a black man owning a dog named Cracker isn’t lost on any of us.

5 Year Photo: Horse’s Hinder

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Here’s a shot of 2 horses in Tombstone walkin past Mikes car. Who’s Mike? That’s Brandon’s cousin. We used to call him something that wasn’t too kind then we started calling him Wii because he sold Lemorris out. Now most of the time we call him Mike unless we call him Wii and he’s pretty cool. He’s kinda like a part of the compound. He’s not oficially DHP but he is always there helping and in spite of his tendency to sell a brotha out he’s a great guy to be around. :) We chose this picture to signify a change in Mike’s status…now he’s on the front part of the horse. More on him soon. He’s good people for sure.

5 Year Photo: The Mill

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Few things have had as great an impact on DHP as the arrival of the Mill. Where did it come from?….Heaven, that’s all you need to know. It has been called The Mill, Tree-sa, and Rick James. It is almost 400 years old and still works fine. You can’t beat Canadian engeneering, that’s a fact.

On the real, the mill is great. Just this week it was used to balance pistons and a deck height tool was made with it. It’s my understanding that one of those circular cutting thing-a-ma-bobs is being ordered for it. Knuckleheads like Brandon, Jerry, Pete, Tom D, and even Silent Steve have got their Mill on. Like many of our individuals, it really is a fantastic tool. :)

Recent Happenings Video

Monday, March 10th, 2008

We got some more thought out stuff in the works so this video is just because. Pete and Lemorris are hereafter banned from any “alone” time in the compound. However we are in agreement that Pete’s impersonation of Silet Steve was actually pretty good. :)

Jokers Wild

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

I can only think of one thing that is cooler than the custom playing cards we got to be a part of last year, and that would be….

…seein the DHP NM cats gamblin away the kids’ lunch money with them.

Great pics fellas.

5 year Photo: Sonic Nose Danglers

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

Our favorite snack at Sonic is the (not always on the menu) Nose Danglers. This is by far Lemorris’ favorite but it’s something we all enjoy on ocassion. Next time you’re at Sonic ask for them…they’re yummy.
